WESG SC2 Americas: Day Two Review

The second gaming day within the offline-part of the American qualifiers for WESG in StarCraft ll is over. We’ve learnt names of the groups’ winners, as well as of those, who will be granted slots in the WESG Global Grand Finals.


Sasha «Scarlett» Hostyn reached the Playoffs

Group «А»

The victory in the Group «А» was gained by Alex «Neeb» Sunderhaft. The American player prevailed in 5 matches and secured the participation in the tournament’s semifinals. The following line is occupied by the Brazilian player Diego «Kelazhur» Schwimer, who picked up 4 matches, joining the Playoffs attendees. The third place in the group is taken by Pablo «Cham» Blanco. The Mexican player outscored three rivals, thus advancing to the quarterfinals of the decisive stage of WESG Americas. It’s worth noting that Neeb, Kelazhur and Cham were granted slots in the WESG Global Grand Finals, with a total prize pool of ¥24 650 000 (~ $3 700 000).

eGGz and DominiC, in turn, have gained an insufficient number of points, leaving the tournament.


Matches of the Playoffs kick off already tomorrow

Group «В»

The first place in Group «В» is seized by Juan Carlos «MajOr» Tena Lopez. He shone with the best result, prevailing in 3 clashes and now he will continue his performance within the Playoffs’ semifinals. Besides, MajOr gets hold of one out of six tickets to the WESG Global Grand Finals. The other Playoffs’ participants are: Sasha «Scarlett» Hostyn and Erik, who secured the second and third place respectively. The last seeds went to Ryu and EGG, who managed to win only one game each.
