Team Spirit win the European Qualifier for StarSeries i-League S7

The CIS squad has become the winner of the European Qualifier for StarSeries i-League CS:GO S7! In the final match, they defeated the French five of Team Vitality with a 2-1 score. Consequently, Spirit earned the 15th spot in the list of participants for the LAN-finals.

Before the game against Vitality, Team Spirit made it through the opening phase of the EU qualifier, securing the 1st place in Group A, and later on, they eliminated Winstrike Team, OpTic Gaming, and Red Reserve in the Playoffs.

of the seventh season of StarSeries i-League CS:GO

The final clash started on Dust II. Team Spirit prevailed in the first pistol due to a quadkill and 1v2 clutch from Victor "somedieyoung" Orudzhev, and after that, they increased the lead to 4-0. Vitality scored their first point as a result of a successful force-buy, but Spirit answered by a victory in the next gun-round — 5-1. The CIS squad didn’t allow the opponent to seize the initiative and continued its domination on the T-side, closing out the half with an 11-4 advantage.

After the side switch, Spirit took another pistol and, later on, reached a 13-4 mark. The Frenchmen won the first buy-round as the Ts and reduced the gap to 13-7, but it was followed by a loss in an important anti-eco — 14-7. A pair of lucky assaults on B brought only two more points to the Vitality’s bank, so it wasn’t enough. Team Spirit ended the map with 16-9 in their favor.

The match resumed on Inferno, which was chosen by Team Vitality. The French five got off to a good start on the defense, leading the way 4-1, but soon enough, Spirit tied the score at 4-4. However, solid CT-performance on both sites of the map and incredible results from Dan "apEX" Madesclaire pushed Vitality forward and helped them to get the win on the CT-side — 10-5. The second half kicked off by a 2v4 victory in the pistol round for Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt and Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer, so the score settled on 11-5. Going forward, Spirit managed to win only one round, so Team Vitality triumphed on their pick with 16-6 on the scoreboard.

Mirage was the last map in this match. After losing five rounds in a row, Team Vitality got on board with their first point by a fast execute on A — 5-1. The Vitality’s winning streak was over before it even started because Team Spirit won a risky force-buy after the 6th round. The Frenchmen were thrown off by it, so it led them to a crushing defeat in the first half — 12-3.

After changing their side to CT, Team Vitality took away 5 out of the 6 following rounds, making the gap in the score a bit shorter — 13-8. Anyway, unfortunately for the fans of the French team, comeback didn’t happen as Spirit restored their economy and finished the map 16-9.
