SL i-League StarSeries: start of the qual-round

A qualifying round for SL i-League CS:GO StarSeries will be held almost simultaneously in three regions: Europe, America and China. In each division the teams will fight for tickets to the LAN-finals, which will be held from April 4-9 in Kiev. The winners of quals and invited teams will enter a clash for a champion’s title and a prize pool of $300,000 on the stage of Palace “Ukraine”.

The matches within the European and American division will kick off from the group stage, which will be held by the system of «Round Robin» with matches up to two victories (Best of 3). All participants will be divided into 4 groups, 4 teams in each, while to the next stage will advance those, who will secure 1st and 2nd places. At the Playoffs, 8 winners of the group stage will accompany 8 invited squads. The matches within the Single Elimination bracket will be held up to two victories (Bo3).

The system of qualifiers in China will slightly differ from the European and American ones. Firstly, all four groups will be played by the system of Double Elimination, while the first matches and ones of winner’s will be held in a format up to one victory (Bo1), the matches of the lower bracket - up to two (Bo3). The first two places in each group will advance to the Playoffs, where they will have to pass through the Single Elimination bracket. The tickets to the LAN-finals will go to three teams - except the bracket’s finalists, to Kiev will go the team, which will pick up the third-place-decider match. Totally, the Chinese qualifiers will be attended by 16 squads: 11 invited and 5 winners of the open-quals.

Following the qual’s outcome, three teams from Europe and China and two from America will move straight to the LAN-finals in Kiev.

The matches in the European region will start on February 10th, then American region will open. A start of the Chinese quals is scheduled for the February 21, while the finals will take place on 28th.
