EnVyUs win 2 maps versus fnatic
In the first match the Swedish fnatic team was facing off against vice-champions of StarSeries EnVyUs. Both teams showed themselves in a good way in the previous stages. Despite the fact that EnVyUs did not manage to make it into the SL i-League StarSeries Final on the first try, they did get the second chance. As well as in the previous stages, the game ran in the BO3 format. In 15 minutes before the match teams chose a list of maps by the crossing method. After spinning a coin the teams in turn cross out maps from the list. The teams chose only one map out of three remaining ones, and the last map becomes decisive in case when the teams play the first two in a draw. Map drafting:
The meeting started on de_mirage. The French quite rapidly took the pistol round and the following one, too. Fnatic, playing the weaker side, managed to take 4 points a in row and took the lead [2:4], though their opponents seized the initiative and began to reduce the lead rather quickly. Still taking the lead in the game, EnVyUs ended the first half with a 10:5 score in their favor. After the side switching the French team managed to keep the leading position and, having lost only one round, ended the map with a victory [16:8]. The teams continued on de_train. The Swedish team showed an excellent game on the attack side, and, beginning from the pistol and force-buy rounds of the rival, took six rounds in a row. But the French team was not going to give up on their own pick and ended the first half with a 9:6 score in their favor. Playing the defense side, fnatic did not manage to cope with the opponents and lost the game [16:7].
